T2/T3 Strategy Consulting Offer vs F50 Internship Offer?
Hi,
I have a few internship offers for this coming summer and I am still considering the best option. Long term goal is to break into MC full time with a T2 firm.
I currently have several offers and I am unsure of which one to choose 1. T2/T3 Strategy Consulting 2. F50 (Credit Card company) Analytics 3. 2 F100 Strategy Offers (Both financial services)
Currently, I lean towards number 1 the most but I would like some advice from more experienced members on the forum. Thank you!
1 will probably lead to the most "prestige" and best total comp, also the best option considering your long term goal
2 will probably have the best work/life balance and comp / hour worked
3 could potentially be the most interesting work or at least a good balance of 1 and 2
Wait, if your goal is to land a T2 full time position, isnt the most reasonable option to take the "T2/3" internship?...
Unless the "T2/3 firm" isnt where you want to be full time (which implies its a T3?)
I apologise for the confusion! I am still not too sure about the clear definition of the tiers (I know that most people in the forum place anything outside MBB as T2 or T3) so I was still a tad confused about that.
The firm that I got an offer from is a global consulting firm but with smaller global presence compared to say, Accenture or Big 4 (think ADL, Simon Kucher, ATK - I guess they would be considered T3? I'm not too sure). But for FT position, ideally, I would like to be at Big 4, ACN or OW.
T1: MBB T2: Deloitte/Strategy&/ATK/LEK/Parthenon/Oliver Wyman
Accenture has come a long way but still isn't broadly considered T2.
That being said, it's clear that consulting experience is a better lateral. You'll be able to better speak to relevant experiences in addition to what you liked/didn't like, what a consultant does, etc. Plus you can see if it's for you.
If you want to try industry first I'd go F100 strategy if you're recruiting for consulting again. That being said, F50 analytics isn't going to block you out of the process.
