Tier 3 consulting salaries? Culture?

I am thinking about making the switch to consulting from banking. I have a few interviews...all based out of NYC. These seem to be small consulting firms. All less than 20 people probably. I am well aware salaries and culture vary firm to firm. I was looking to hear from people that work in these type of firms. Also how much do you travel as well?

Wasn't aware a tier 3 existed.

Currently: future neurologist, current psychotherapist Previously: investor relations (top consulting firm), M&A consulting (Big 4), M&A banking (MM)

Im sorry, I am a banker so I am new to consulting terminology. I just picked up tier 3 from this forum. I assumed it meant the smallest consulting firms. The only consulting term I know is MBB.
