Timing my application as an Advanced Degree Candidate

Hey all - I'm a recent Advanced Degree graduate looking to apply for BCG. Their Bridge to BCG application is due today (those accepted to the program and interested in the FT job would start at earliest late 2021), but the recruiter informed me they're also recruiting for FT positions right now (start date during summer, which I am interested in). She informed me I should NOT apply for both.

As an advanced degree candidate, is there a difference in competitiveness if I apply to FT now vs. during the next recruiting cycle when most ADCs apply? In other words, if I apply to FT now, would I be "competing" against experienced hires or considered as an ADC?
