Transition from BB Rotational Program to Consulting/Corporate Strategy?

I started my career with a 2-year middle office rotational program at a BB bank. I'm hoping to head to a management/strategy consulting or corporate strategy for a media and entertainment company. The program wraps up in July and, ideally, I'd like to start somewhere in September.

1) When should I start applying?

2) When should I start recruiting (i.e., reaching out to people on LinkedIn, setting up informational interviews, etc)?

3) How realistic would a September start date be considering the one month gap?

Thanks!
