Up or out at MBB
Currently deciding between fulltime offers at Bain & McKinsey. The goal is to work for 2-3 years, get an MBA sponsored, and then return for two years. Does anyone know which firm it'd be more challenging to get the MBA sponsorship at? How likely is up or out to be an issue that stops me from getting an MBA sponsored? Does pretty much everyone get the sponsorship offer at both firms?
I think Bain. From what I hear, McKinsey throws MBA sponsorship at most people after a couple of years.
I don't think there's a significant difference between any of the three. Isn't the "out" usually MBA sponsorship for most MBB? Very few (5%) actually get "counseled to leave" (CTL)
Both have similar sponsorship rates, but this is for APAC
Like they all say, "You'll have more fun at Bain" but if you want prestige McKinsey > Bain every-time. What matters most is the culture. If you hate yourself at the firm, you wouldn'tbe considered for sponsorship.
MBA sponsorship is similar at all three MBBs, so I would not base my decision on that as a main factor
