Management consulting is a very high level term that basically means helping businesses make and/or execute management decisions. EY's consulting arm (i.e. the non-audit or tax portions of EY) and MBB are all management consulting firms

However, the actual work being done will be very different. McK, Bain, and BCG are the market leaders in strategy consulting, i.e. helping companies determine the high level competitive and other strategies they should be pursuing. At EY Finance, from a quick glance at their website it looks like you'd doing things like helping change the processes, structures, and technologies behind companies' finance and accounting functions to make them more efficient or effective

Lateraling from B4 to MBB is not usually easy, but I know some people who have been able to do it recently because of how hot the job market is right now and how much of a staff shortage all of the strategy firms are experiencing
