What should I be doing freshman summer for consulting

Have heard the general advice of messaging and coffee chatting, which is what I am doing now. Am still interviewing and applying for jobs, have a couple of interviews lined up for government consultancy and research work, but feel a level of anxiety if I am missing something? My GPA is a bit lower than I'd like (3.75, plan to bump it up, was told 3.85 was the sweet spot). Trying to get Big4 in sophmore year followed by MBB in junior. I don't know if I should be applying to more clubs (have one major club positions, probably going to snag another one) or doing case competitions or something of the sort?
