Corp Dev Lateral Move with $40k Paycut to learn more?

Currently a Corp Dev analyst at unicorn tech startup in the Bay Area. Long story short, I don't do M&A but rather small impact strategy, ops and finance projects. There is no M&A strategy for the next few years. Currently interviewing for a Corp Dev analyst role at a Healthcare system in San Diego focused on M&A.

  • Pro: (1)I get to add to my technical skills and learn the ins-and-outs of M&A. (2)Smart team
  • Con: (1)$30k-$40k less total comp. (2)Leave the Bay Area.

Should I take it? Thoughts?
