I got an offer for a F100 insurance company FLDP internship in Newark, NJ. (you can probably guess the name). I come from a target in NYC with a 3.6 GPA and good work experience in corporate development. How are insurance company's fldps viewed? A possible exit after 3 years is corp dev.. which would be my goal. Also, comp seems rather low for full time - I'm thinking 55k all in. Is it possible to break into IBD or MC for full time? I'm continuing to apply for various jobs, but all the BBs IBD internships deadlines and recruiting has passed.

Re: FT FDLP comp - That is incredibly low for the NY market, is there a cost of living supplement with that being only the base for FDLP staff? I made $100k/year in NYC and could barely afford to live in Manhattan. You definitely don't want to live in Newark. Possibly Hoboken/Jersey City but even those prices are rising. Maybe it's been awhile since I was an entry-level candidate, but that seems "fuck you" low to me. You can take the internship and always focus on something else for FT. Better to have something over the summer than sit around twiddling your thumbs.
