F500 Corp Dev Opportunities In The Northeast?

So I've been thinking a lot about corp dev recently as my ideal exit opp whenever I decide I'm done with banking. From the nature of the work to the hours to the culture to the comp, I think it might fit the bill (thanks HarvardGrad for the fantastic info).

However, it seems like all of the references to Corp Dev here on WSO are centered on tech companies based in the Bay area. Does anyone know about F500 corp dev opportunities in the Northeast? For personal reasons I don't see myself moving out west, so I'm trying to figure out what opportunities there might be over on this side of the country - New York, Boston, Philly, DC maybe, etc. Can be tech industry or otherwise, just looking to see what's out there.

Thanks as always,

dublin

You should be able to find plenty of opportunities if you're looking at companies not in the tech industry. Think companies like GE, etc. Lots of industrials located in the midwest too. Go to the F500 list and see which companies are located in the northeast and midwest.

I am guessing the comp that Harvard mentioned is a lot higher ( Bay Area) than that of a normal F500 company elsewhere. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for the quick comments. I was trying to see if there were certain companies that were 'known' for Corp Dev out here, because I know that the tech companies out west are very acquisitive, so I didn't want to assume that any given non-tech F500 would be the same. I imagine many of them don't do many deals at all, in which case they wouldn't be great contenders for a corp dev exit.

On a related note, anyone know if any of the Bay area firms have Corp Dev groups in the Northeast as well?

Also was wondering about the point Ambition raised - can anyone confirm that? If for instance I was doing Corp Dev at GE, Verizon, IBM, J&J, etc?

I realize I'm asking for pretty specific data here, so really appreciate if anyone happens to have any.
