I know that background checks have been covered - I've read the threads - and that they are pretty much a crap shoot, especially for internships, but was hoping someone could drop some knowledge my way regarding the general process for non-financial F500s. It seems to me that the Ibanks would have much more diligent checks.
From what I understand, companies typically initiate these after the offer. One forum mentioned that it would take about a month for an F500. Assuming I'd already be starting the job within that time-frame, would they even bother (I'm guessing that they would)? And would they check my credit report for an internship? Also, if the company requests a transcript from you, do they go ahead and compare it with the school?
Not sure what your non-financial F500 is specifically, but O&G companies will definitely check your credit report (internship included). I can't see the firm actually contacting the school to confirm the grades on your transcript. They'll probably just request an official/sealed one to be sent directly from the school (you'll have to request it from the school yourself).

When I interned at a BB they didn't really go into any details until I had already started. HR bish kept on emailing me to send her my certificates and god knows what papers (every Monday morning). Didn't send jack shit and left at the end of the summer, no problemo amigo. But that was just me, not sure on the rest of the summer analysts.

That's awesome. So, you weren't approached by your manager, or anyone else? I feel like that would eventually escalate. Also, is there any way you can go back and take a look at what she was specifically asking for? If not, that's cool - but it would be a huge help.
Nope, everything was asked for well before I started working. I'm pretty sure they don't actually care too much about the official transcript - it's more of a formality. If you're just a student, I doubt any red flags will show up on the credit report - unless you failed to pay your cell phone bill or something.

No, my VP told her on the first day that he'd forward her my transcripts soon so yeah, it kinda ended right there. Weird part is that right after getting my offer I did forward my grades (high school/college), country of residence, etc. but they still kept on asking for them (not really sure why). It might in your case, but it definitely didn't with me haha, same old automated mail every Monday morning.
