FP&A Role in F500

What are my growth prospects for starting my career in an FP&A role at a F500?

The role involves budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis so it looks like its geared more towards the accounting side than the finance side.

Hate to say it but that's pretty standard at the analyst level. Budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis do remain part of a core finance skill set as you progress up the ranks, so it's not wasted time to learn it. Granted it is mind-numbing.

The last act is tragic, however happy all the rest of the play is; at the last a little earth is thrown upon our head, and that is the end for ever.

actually- yeah............What exactly do you do in FP&A? Is it more accounting based? I assume there is no modeling?

Do you ever get to work w. the M&A guys?
