Fundraising experience

I’d like to learn how involved Corp FP&A is in the fundraising process (series B, C, etc), prior to an IPO. I know Corp FP&A typically has ownership of the long term financial model, but curious to better understand Corp FP&A’s involvement or contribution in this process. Are they directly involved in deal sizing, working with the Executive team, and overall strategy behind the deal? Or does this process typically take place directly amongst members of the Executive team (CEO, CFO, Genera Counsel)? Thanks
