I'm graduating a quarter later. Should I tell my interviewer?
I have an interview with the corp finance group of a F500 company for a full time position and their desired start date is June 1. However, I need an extra quarter to finish my courses for my degree and will not be graduating until Aug 1. Should I tell them during my first round interview my situation? Do you think I'm disqualified if I don't graduate by June 1? I can take 6 courses this quarter and next, but don't think that's doable since they are all upper div.
You can take two paths...tell the up front...or tell them your date availability when it comes up (it will). Just dont lie to them. 2 months is not a lomg time for a company to wait if you're the right perdon for the job.
The thing is, on my resume it says my expected graduation date is June 1, but my schedule got messed up and I'm going to have to push my grad date to Aug 1.
Then you should tell them
Immediately or (if) after I get an offer?
The place only hires 3 entry level people so I feel like they might make an exception is they like me. On the other hand, I feel like if I tell them now, it'll hinder my chances during the interview.
If you interview and tell the later, that's just as bad as lying. You'd be blacklisted quickly from that company.
Ok. I'll just tell them if they bring me in for another interview.
