Internal Move Big 4

Hi everyone,

I am working at PwC in a European Country in audit department for about one year. From the beggining I was not excited for Audit department.

Now, one year later, I am still not excited but I see the good "elements" of the job but the company laucnhed a graduate program for advisory line of service which includes interview and an assesment day. I am thinking to apply for the job but I face two problems.

Firstly, there is not a clear policy of the company for internal transfers and Secondly I do not know what the consequenses would be if I get rejected for the job. Will be in doubt my job in audit? Will be the personal relations with my manager in doubt because of my apply?

I have "two plus one" questions for everyone who want to help me. 1) From what you know which are the most common policy for internal moves in big 4? 2) From what you know which would be the consequenses in case someone is rejected for the move? Plus One) Also any tip you consider as relevant would be helpful

Thank you very much in advance for any response I get.

Worked at both Deloitte and EY in ASEAN (Audit as well). What I understand was, the internal transfer is very common here.

Basically asking HR if there are any vacant position in other department and tell them you’re interested.

Afraid not if you fail the interview. 1)Your job in audit will still be secured. 2) Relationship with your manager might not be affected. Is normal to have people leaving their jobs for further advancement. Unless you include you hated your current boss as one of the reasons for internal transfer.

Hope this answer helps!
