Is it possible to have Corporate Finance career in Madrid?

hey guys

I would like to know if it's possible to have a career in corporate finance in Madrid when you're a foreigner?

The reason I'm asking is cause my wife's employer has offered her something there and so I'd like to assess whether it could make sense

I speak fluent Spanish but I hear a lot that Spanish work culture is very old school (long hours but low efficiency, unnecessary face time etc), very conservative and basically if you're not from ex aristocratic family you'll never be successful...

Can you even find a job at mid-level (VP) given the gigantic unemployment rate? How about political (in)stability and impact on business?

Any thoughts? Anyone in the WSO who is or has been working in Spain who could chip in?

About myself: I joined a small/medium corporate now in their corporate finance team but my background is i-banking (although in tier 2 names) where I had reached VP level (my whole team got let go). Things in my new gig are going ok but I have some concerns on sustainability of the enterprise so hence a possible move...

Thanks!

Disclaimer: my alias may (no longer) be an indication of where I'm based now
