On Campus Recruiting

If you see a posting for an on campus recruiting for a position you want to be in, what should you do besides just apply to obtain the first round interview.

For instance there is a position I really want and it only has the contact information of the college recruiter in the positing. Would it be appropriate to email this person expressing interest (what should I say)? Or should I just apply and hope to get the interview. Normally I would think setting up an information interview would make sense, but I don't know who to contact or who could help me get that interview

Thanks guys

Curious on this issue as well. Postings on my schools recruiting system include HR and sometimes even Senior Analysts/Managers contact info. In the case of the latter is it ok to reach out and talk to them or is it a formality for them to post their info?

Right, thanks guys. I think I'll reach out to the HR person to see if they have time to talk to me a little more about the position or if they can put me in touch with some one who can shed more light on it. Does this sort of email sound appropriate to set up a phone call?
