Question about Corp Dev R & Rs?

Does Corp Dev assume the role of M&A Integration Project Managers typically?

I'm working on a unique team at my unicorn tech startup. It's called a "Category Manager" at some companies. The role basically strips Business functions from Product and makes us "the owners" of each Products P&L / Strategy.

I also have a background in M&A (worked at a local boutique following my exit from Consulting). Our company doesn't have a formal Corp Dev team but routinely talks to PE / our competitors about any deals that we may find interesting. I have recently been asked to help put together some customer analysis, various sensitivities, and ultimately a memo-style Management Presentation for a potential deal as part of a two-person Corp Dev "Tiger Team". I imagine i'll also sit in on DD calls, track QoE, etc.

I think the guy i'm doing this for also expects me to run the entire Post-Sale process too (scripts for sales teams, PR, aqua-hiring, and all that other shit). Are Corp Dev teams typically responsible for the full M&A lifecycle or am I being jerked around here?
