Should I accept DE Shaw Generalist Internship?

I decided to apply late for summer internships this year and am pretty far through DE Shaw's generalist intern (preference for the corporate development division) application process as I saw it advertised to my school and thought, why not. My most likely plan right now is management consultancy after undergrad with a view of transitioning into life sciences VC when possible.

I get that this position isn't as coveted as DE Shaw's trader/analyst roles, so would it still be valuable for me to take this internship? I would try and tailor it so I can do as much market analysis/research as possible and try to be part of revenue-generating teams rather than just doing a HR role. But I was wondering - can I apply to consultancy grad jobs the following year using this experience? What do you think? I don't know whether to prioritise other things (much smaller consultancy firms) if this role won't be a valuable experience to have. The only consultancy firms open for this summer now are smaller firms, so that's why I'm thinking of taking the opportunity
