Thank You Note?

Just had an on-campus interview with an F20 company for a summer intern role in corporate finance. Sent a thank you note to my interviewer a couple hours later and he replied the next day with something along these lines:

Thanks for the email, it was nice meeting you, too. I enjoyed learning about you and your life at X COLLEGE. I believe that X COMPANY will soon be reaching out to internship candidates shortly regarding next steps.

Perhaps I'm looking into this too much, but are my chances good since he did reply to my thank you email and added the part about "next steps"? I figured since he was the one who interviewed me and he did respond to my thank you email (I didn't inquire about when I'd hear back) that maybe the odds are in my favor? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Honestly I don't think that says anything either way. But good work getting the follow-up email in, that always looks good for you.

Thanks for the response. Should I reply to his response thanking him for touching back with me or should I just leave it at that?

anyones else with thoughts?

Just leave it at that. If you haven't heard anything in say 10 business days from receiving his reply, then send him an email
