Uncommon Career Pivot

Currently mid-level capital markets professional at small (but growing) mortgage originator. Just under 30 years old. Handle some aspects of loan trading and fully run our pipeline hedging desk.

Recently an opportunity popped up to pivot to a strategic finance role at a public company (unrelated to mortgages) to support finance leadership across capital allocation and corporate development. Would be with old bosses, whom I trust.

Compensation is roughly the same (lower cash and higher equity). How should I be thinking about this career pivot?

Leaning towards accepting, given uncertainty around the sustainability of my current company's growth, and my role as more of an executor vs decision maker. If other details would help, happy to provide.
