Cambridge MFin programme to pivot to private credit?
Hey Monkeys,
Background of myself: I'm an FT at GS working in Credit Risk (work is a bit back-office, mostly monitoring, not working on transactions but analysing financials statements, modelling etc) covering corporates for 1.5yrs, I graduated with an Economics degree from a UK semi-target with a 1st class degree (GPA 3.8 and higher). I'm looking to pivot to IB/Private Credit in London. No sponsorship issues as I'm a UK citizen.
Given how bad the market is at the moment, I was thinking of doing a master's to try and pivot as I'm worried that as I become more senior, it's harder to move as a junior analyst to IB.
I have an interview with Cambridge for their MFin programme, its like an MBA but for finance as it requires at least 2 yrs of experience by the time you join.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Imperial and LSE as I've applied for the Masters in Finance and Accounting.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the Cambridge MFin programme and if I had offers from all fo them, what would you do and why?
