Based on the most helpful WSO content, Corporate Banking compensation at JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citi generally follows these trends:

  • Associate Level: Compensation is typically comparable to Investment Banking but with a ~20% haircut. If max IB comp is around $250,000, Corporate Banking comp might be closer to $200,000. This includes base salary and bonus.

  • VP Level: Compensation increases significantly. For example, at the VP level, you might expect a base of $120K with bonuses ranging from 50% to 70-150%, depending on performance and the bank.

From what I’ve heard, CB AN1s at my bank (non-BB B/S bank) made $150k total comp last year which is insane since that’s almost in-line with our IB AN1s while working 40% less lol — heard they do 9-5s pretty regularly.

For CB AS1’s, heard they get paid around the same base as IB AS1’s and maybe $50-$75k bonus depending on the year. It seems that Associate+ roles are where the bonus delta b/w IB and CB becomes to be more apparent
