Corporate Banking FT 2026

I’m graduating in April 2026. I have worked internships in consulting, corporate finance and accounting and I would like to get into corporate banking FT post graduation. Does anyone have any tips on what I should be focusing on in 2025 to set myself up for this?

To set yourself up for a full-time role in corporate banking post-graduation in 2026, here are some actionable tips based on the most helpful WSO content:

  1. Networking: Start building relationships with professionals in corporate banking. Attend networking events, reach out to alumni, and leverage LinkedIn to connect with bankers at your target firms. Informational interviews can be a great way to learn more about the role and make a lasting impression.

  2. Technical Skills: Strengthen your financial modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Consider taking courses like those offered by Wall Street Prep or WSO Academy to refine these skills. Familiarity with financial statements, credit analysis, and valuation techniques is crucial.

  3. Internship Experience: If possible, secure a corporate banking internship in 2025. This will give you direct exposure to the field and make your resume more competitive. Highlight your consulting, corporate finance, and accounting experience to demonstrate transferable skills.

  4. Interview Preparation: Prepare for technical and behavioral interviews. Review common corporate banking interview questions, such as those related to credit analysis, financial ratios, and market trends. Practice your responses to behavioral questions to showcase your teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  5. Stay Informed: Keep up with industry trends, news, and developments in corporate banking. This will help you sound knowledgeable during interviews and networking conversations.

  6. Leverage Resources: Utilize resources like the WSO Company Database and forums to research target firms, understand their hiring processes, and gather insights from others who have pursued similar roles.

  7. Maintain Academic Excellence: A strong GPA can make a difference, especially if you're targeting competitive firms. Balance your academic commitments with your preparation efforts.

By focusing on these areas throughout 2025, you'll position yourself strongly for a full-time corporate banking role in 2026.
