LevFin Credit Risk Analyst?
I've been offered a position for Credit Risk Analyst within UBS's Leveraged Finance group. Is this the same as being a LevFin analyst? What is the difference?

Not familiar with how UBS is structured exactly - but it almost certainly is NOT the same as being a LevFin analyst.
As a Credit Risk Analyst supporting LevFin, you likely will be the one putting together credit memos / running diligence on the credit, listening in on management presentations / diligence calls and assisting with credit documentation, but no, not a true LevFin analyst.
It is a good gig though if that's all you can land for now and aren't IB or bust.
Thanks for the response. Would this allow me to lateral into LevFin? I am definitely not IB or bust, just have a genuine interest in credit
shouldn't have too hard of a time lateraling into LevFin after 1-2 years as a CRA in LevFin. Network and focus on performing well.
In a different bank but it takes at least 1-2 years to transition from credit to front office/coverage role. If you do take the role you’re going to network a lot from the start
If you work in LevFin mind if I DM you. Have some questions
