I’ve been in a Credit team at a US MF known for Credit in London for c. 6 months. Things are going well, I’m (generally) enjoying my job, and as of now, I don’t think I’d want to jump ship, at least for a while.
Someone in the team was saying that it wouldn’t be too difficult to move to the US (NY/LA) through an internal transfer if one wanted to. Especially given that our team there is significantly larger, and does a lot more deals.
Moving to the US has always been a dream for me. Not only would it be value-accretive to my career but I’d likely get paid more (even after accounting for the higher cost of living) and it would be an exciting change. I’m British-born-and-bred, and it’s always a good idea to broaden one’s horizons.
What are the forum’s thoughts? Any thoughts are welcomed, in order to make me think about whether or not I should ask for this.
