Silver Point Finance

Anybody have any insights on this team? Understand their flagship DD hedge fund is very well regarded, but would like to learn more about the private side lending group. Interested in understanding their perception on the street, types of deals they do, comp, WLB, etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

I’ve heard it’s just spicier lending. Akin with the likes of a Comvest Credit, HIG Whitehorse, HPS, etc. investing in both sponsor backed and non sponsored businesses, but veer more towards the sponsor credit side. I believe they’re only really doing 1L / unitranche paper but will do hairier deals and more complex industries (specialty finance, oil & gas, ARR lending, etc.). Seems like a direct comp to an HPS specialty lending. As such, don’t expect to be doing really any junior capital or structured equity, it’s more so spicier lending at the top of the capital structure
