Struggling to get first rounds in PC

I come from a non target, I hustled my way into a BB not really knowing if that’s what I wanted to do. Everyone was so obsessed with banking and professors/other students just made it sound like once you get into IB then the world is “yours to take”. Now, almost two years into my career I realized I want to do PC but even though I express interest to every HH that reaches out about credit opportunities I never get called for first rounds. It seems like they only want people with credit background. I see many of my classmates that “didn’t make it” into banking and started as analysts in random PC shops now lateraling in my dream roles. How can I get more opportunities to join the industry? I am prepared, I am passionate about it, I spend my free time listening to podcasts and reading books about credit but can’t express that on my CV (mostly M&A experience). Any suggestions?
