At the time of writing, the price of LUNC is 0.00030069, up around 5.77% from the price on the day of implementation. Some LUNC supporters believe that when more centralized exchanges embrace the tax burn mechanism, the price of LUNC might eventually reach $1. The price now, however, is 332468% away from $1. It appears like LUNC will take some time to increase the price.

StakeBin burn tracking shows that the first week of tax burn implementation lowered the overall supply of LUNC by around 1.56 billion, which is 6.5 times more effectively than the week of September 15. It will take roughly 6.85 years to eliminate the first trillion from supply if LUNC burns 400,000,000 every day. On the other side, if off-chain transaction burn is supported or the volume of transactions increases, the burning time for the first trillion will be reduced proportionately.
