RIP Bitcoin

We all remember that Bitcoin craze last year, where everyone from Warren Buffet to your next-door-neighbor got involved in the discussion. In December 2017, Bitcoin at its highest was $17,900.

It's fallen quite a bit since then; today I read a story on CNBC:

Bitcoin fell below $6,000 Tuesday for the first time since June as the majority of cryptocurrencies declined in value...The top 80 digital currencies by market capitalization were also lower as of Tuesday afternoon, according to data from CoinMarketCap.com. The total crypto market capitalization has fallen by about $19 billion in the past 24 hours.

Thoughts on crypto in general? If you have invested in it, why did you choose to?

I think back in December 2017 many people invested in cryptos simply because of FOMO and many of them had little or no knowledge of how crypto currencies really work and about their market. Generally speaking I think crypto currencies will become more mainstream over time and especially the Blockchain technology will be more and more frequently used due to its advantages...

Imo the technology behind all this crypto stuff will be more popular as time goes on. However, crypto currencies would probably come under and face a lot of government scrutiny/regulations and probably won’t be back to the levels it was earlier
