I figured I would post this in off topic to get more responses, but it's specifically for interviews for hedge funds or asset management firms. I've been making a bit of money from crypto currencies. I've been managing a small amount of money for friends, family friends, and family, about $15000, and grew it to about $50000. Is that something that people in the industry would actually find impressive? Or is it probably best left unsaid. I feel like, with how controversial it is, it might make me look kind of bad, but I could be wrong.

Whats controversial about it? People are giving lessons about the risks involved with cryptocurrencies while they have savings on bank accounts being chewed up by inflation YoY. I find it insane not to put an insignificant amount of money on something could only be insignificantly less or significantly more. Some people argue that cryptocurrencies are just used by criminals, yet somehow we fail to mention the anonymity surrounding paper currency. About 2 years ago, I read an article saying that less than 50% of paper dollars are accounted for in the economy.

So should I steer clear of mentioning Bitcoin during an interview?
