Building my career towards equity research from an early start in investment advisory.

Hi All,

This is my first post here an I really need help. I early in my career, as I'm halfway through my bachelors degree. however, I have a robust resume when it comes to work experience. I've worked at Fidelity investments for two and a half years spending a year and a half as an investment advisor and so far one year as a financial reporting analyst, working with a book of companies to help maintain reporting to investors and regulators. currently, I'm in talks with transitioning to a fixed income research role, this due to the fact that I have connections in this section of the company already that are helping me get in contact with the right people. I'm not 100% sure if I want to stick with FI or Equity research but the step into a research role will help me have more options to move around. I'm concerned that I'm becoming too wide in my experience and am lacking depth in one industry or sector, which I'm seeing is more desirable in the industry. Will someone help point me in a good direction as to how I should handle my unique situation?

Thanks,
