Any experience with Charles Tyrwhitt shoes?

Hi all!

I recently purchased two suits from CT during one of their larger sales events and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and fit of the pieces I received. What I am curious about is whether any of you have experience with their shoes, specifically this one:

At GBP99 with the 10% sale going on right now and the additional 15% retailmenot coupon, these seem to be a good deal contingent on whether the quality is any good.

I bought a pair a while back and promptly returned it. The shoes were made by Loake for CT, and Loake is basically a bottom-tier shoemaker in the UK shoe industry (so worse than Allen Edmonds, maybe on par with Johnston & Murphy). But then again, I bought my pair at full price. For 99 GBP, they seem all right. They are Goodyear-welted, so you can get them re-soled when the soles wear down, but I'm fairly certain that the quality of the uppers will be mediocre at best. Just take good care of them and see how long they last.

It's more that the CT shoes are low-end Loakes, not that Loake are a low-end shoe maker. Their 1880 line is pretty much in line with AE as far as I've heard.

Well, it's all relative. When you have brands like John Lobb, Gaziano & Girling, and Edward Green at the very top end, Loake is definitely a low-end shoemaker by UK standards (with brands like Barker, Tricker's, Church, Cheaney, Crockett & Jones, and Alfred Sargent somewhere in the middle).
