Best Jeans for Men, Expert Advice to Choose

I researched the best jeans for men as I've been trying to upgrade my wardrobe with something more comfortable and long-lasting for daily business meetings and duties. i have been experiencing issues with poor fitting jeans, uncomfortable fabric, and pairs that lose shape after a few washes. i went through reviews from trusted sources like reddit, gq, and wirecutter and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

Lucky Brand Men's 410 Athletic Fit Jean

https://www.amazon.com/Lucky-Brand-Athletic-Barite-32x32/dp/B00ZHN82WS/

Mugsy Mens Jeans, Classic Fit, Stretch Denim Jeans for Men

https://www.amazon.com/Mugsy-Fultons-Mens-Jean-Comfortable/dp/B0D6SRWM39/

however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some fashion enthusiasts or experienced users on this forum can also share their advice.i usually wear jeans daily for business and casual outings and work and need something comfortable, durable, and stylish. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some tailored recommendations and insights for choosing the best jeans for your needs:

  1. Fit and Comfort:

    • If you're looking for jeans that accommodate athletic builds or larger thighs, Levi's Athletic Fit and Banana Republic Traveler's jeans are highly recommended. They offer stretch and comfort, which is crucial for daily wear.
    • Mugsy Jeans are also a solid choice for stretch and comfort, especially if you prioritize a classic fit with modern flexibility.
  2. Durability and Longevity:

    • Levi's is often praised for its durability and wide range of fits. It's a reliable brand for jeans that maintain their shape after multiple washes.
    • For premium options, RRL and A.P.C. are mentioned as high-quality brands, though they come at a higher price point.
  3. Style and Versatility:

    • Dark navy or black denim is ideal for business-casual settings. These colors pair well with button-down shirts and blazers, making them versatile for both meetings and casual outings.
    • Avoid overly trendy or flashy designs (e.g., True Religion or Ed Hardy) to maintain a professional appearance.
  4. Budget-Friendly Options:

    • J.Crew and Diesel offer stylish and reasonably priced jeans that are suitable for both casual and business settings.
    • If you're on a tighter budget, consider tailoring less expensive jeans (e.g., American Eagle) for a custom fit.
  5. Tailoring for the Perfect Fit:

    • If off-the-rack options don't fit perfectly, investing in tailoring can make a significant difference. Adjustments like tapering the legs or taking in the waist can elevate the overall look and comfort.

For your specific needs—daily business and casual wear—Mugsy Jeans might edge out Lucky Brand due to their reputation for comfort and stretch, which is ideal for long hours of wear. However, if durability and a more classic aesthetic are your priorities, Lucky Brand could be the better choice.

Of those two - Lucky, in a different style/color would be my pick. Mugsy are effectively sweatpants that look like jeans - IMO they are overpriced, EZY jeans from Uniqlo are similar and like half or a third of the price.

My advice though - at that price point, skip those, and go to Nordstrom Rack. They have a ton of jeans - almost always - from all sorts of brands (7, AG, Joe's, etc.) - marked down. If you are a usual length, like a 30 or 32 - a great option. Otherwise, I view the mall stores as having better options: Levi's, Madewell, JCrew, Banana, Ralph Lauren, etc. Bonobos, Mott & Bow, and others online could be good choices too. Heck - target carries Levi's now, and admittedly if you can find what fits you they are hard to beat for real jeans.
