biz cazsh @ gs nyc?

i know, i know--use the search function blah blah. but the answers are scattered, as well as old.

need a no bs description of what business casual should mean for an associate at a bb in nyc. fo but not client-facing

own zero dress clothes other than the suit in which i interviewed and need to build an entire wardrobe asap

collar: point or button-down? i prefer the b-d look with no tie but is that a faux paux? pants: charc, navy, dk brown? what about something like light grey or light brown? black? also: wool slacks only? nothing more casual than that?
shoes: lace ups a la AE park avs? any chance to mix it up here?

10 shirts, 5 pants, 3 pairs of shoes? is that enough pieces to create enough different outfits to not look like a total goon?

kthx

if you're on a tight budget (from the look of things you are), rather get 1 pair of nice shoes than 3 pairs of average ones. Suits: no browns, go with black and dark blue or dark gray. Shirts should be some whites and a mix of shades of blue. Dont wear pink, dont where md shirts.

switch up 5 pairs of pants to 3 suits; 1 black, 1 dark blue, 1 gray and you will be fine.

business casual basically means you dont have to wear a tie, and can walk around without a jacket on at all times. So you still need suits.
