Budget SA shoe choice

I am in the market for black dress shoes. I purchased a pair of Cole Haan Air Williams shoes for $150.

Oddly I couldn't find a picture on their website.

At this point I may be able to find a pair of Johnston & Murphy Hutchins Cap Toes for $170.

What do you guys think of the upgrade, and on a related note, capped vs. no-cap oxfords?

Cole Haan looks solid. I would also buy Johnston & Murphy's shoes so you can rotate them. I have recently bought 2 pairs one capped and one no-cap oxfords and I am really happy with them. Really comfortable and easy to take care of.

Would you recommend a different color for the second pair?.

I just picked up a pair of lightly used Church's custom grade cap toe oxfords on eBay for $60. I believe they cost around $400 for a new pair, so you can try that if you want.
