I'm an incoming SA and I'm wondering if it's ok to wear cropped pants (navy and charcoal suit) with brown loafers.

I honestly read this as 'crapped pants with brown loafers as an intern' the first time and thought "who cares what shoes you wore when you shat yourself?"
Depends on the bank, your gender, and day of the week.
If you're an intern trying to secure a FT offer and you have to ask yourself "Is what I'm wearing appropriate?", then the answer is probably no and you're probably better off playing it safe.
If you question the choice or have to ask yourself twice, the answer is almost always no

1) The guy who’s always “on trend” with fashion
2) the guy you can always count on to get shit done
If you’re targeting 1), notice what the most successful guys are wearing who are a year ahead of you in the program. Learn from their example.
