Custom Suits - Black Lapel, Enzo Custom

Looking into ordering a couple of suits and blazers from either Black Lapel or Enzo Custom. For those of you that have used either company, what are your thoughts on quality/service/value? Does anyone recommend using one over the other?

I like blank label, but keep in mind their waist sits at about your belly button. Classic suiting, but some might like a lower waist.

I wish they had more pinstripe option. I’ve heard they are trying to get different linings. As far as Enzo goes, no clue.

End of the day you really need someone else to measure you and have the suit fitted once or twice. Once you get that dialed in you should be fine. For the price point the suits are pretty good and fit very well.

Sounds more like MTM than custom. True custom made means they’ll accommodate your preferences. If you have to accept high-waisted pants because that’s how their patterns work, then you’re buying MTM. Nothing wrong with that. I like MTN. Better value than custom. Just find a sUit you like and ask if they offer MTM. Lots of places do.

If you want to do MTM do it in person at a reputable place like Nordstroms.

Joseph Abboud at Mens Wearhouse or Suitsupply also offer good value for money on their MTM programs.

Look at Enzo custom. They have locations in Philly, NYC, Boston and LA, I believe. They are true custom suits handmade with fine Italian fabrics. About $495 for a tie, shirt and suit. Great quality.

I personally go Ralph (my friend who still works there gets me a very solid discount) and there is a small business called Armen's Custom Tailor in Manayunk (Yuppy-ish North Philly neighborhood). He buys Zenga fabric and makes all the suits by hand in house. Amazing value for $300 to $500. Shane Victorino formerly of the Phillies is a regular
