If you think suits and dress shoes are there for you to look "cool" you're wrong. It's a uniform for business. maybe you should work at a fashion designer? Or maybe you should play a wall street employee in a movie?

edit: actually that's a bit harsh. Most people take off their jacket indoors so its possible nobody would even notice that you're decked out super-formal.

Wear what you want. If there's one thing I've learned having started at a BB it's that nobody really gives a shit what you wear as long as you're a decent kid. I've seen analysts in training wearing $10,000 watches, 3 piece suits, Hermes belts. All sorts.

If you like it, wear it. I wore a black suit to my interviews and nobody gave a rats ass.

stick to charcoal grey, navy blue, if you're aggressive then the ari gold suits sold by tom james are fine..

Who says? Maybe this is from TV- where the colors from the display can make dark color suits look black. But in the real world the only black suits I've seen in an office environment have been new young men who don't know any better. Rather that looking powerful, it makes someone look amateurish like a kid playing "dress-up".
