Freshman equity research internship?
What is the dress code for the equity research department of a boutique investment bank in NYC? I'll wear a suit after that, but I don't have that many business clothes, so it would be good to know.
It depends on the bank's dress code. Wear a suit the first day and then adjust.
Better idea: hang out in a van with binocculars across the street the week before you start. Watch what people are wearing coming and going, take notes.
Suit and no tie first day. Bring tie in bag.
If no one else wearing suit, next day wear shirt+slacks.
If people wearing suit, wear suit.
If people wearing ties (rare), put on tie. No full windsor. Half windsor or regular tie.
