Good Loafer Brands (other than Ferragamo/Gucci level)

Hey Monkeys,

I have a quick fashion inquiry regarding good loafer brands for those not ready to buy at the Ferragamo/Gucci level yet. I'm a Summer Analyst at a bank where, as sad as this may seem to some of you, people notice what others are wearing. (Some of you may not believe me, but I could tell stories, hilarious stories the likes of which would make LSO cry tears of joy - I'm not going to though because that just might give away the bank.)

Anyway, the Nordstrom Men's sale is coming up and I'm looking to invest $150-$250 in a decent pair of loafers. I'm not trying to have something flashy, just a pair that won't stick out for negative reasons. I'm also looking for a pair that I can use a million times without looking too bad afterwards.

Are there any brands to avoid that are overpriced per the quality of their products? Also, can anyone give a yay/nay opinion on shoes with metal buckles, are they as taboo on an Analyst as, for example, a pair of cufflinks?

Would love some perspectives on the following choices and any other recommendations you might have that meet the above.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/hugo-boss-crest-loafe…

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/allen-edmonds-firenze…

I realize how ridiculous this post is and feel bad for caring what the others think, I just don't want to stand out for anything other than my deal contributions. You can check my other posts and see that I'm not a troll, lol.

Thanks,
Julien
