Help Picking a Suit For Banking Interviews
Hey WSOers, Looking for some advice is choosing a suit for ib interviews in NYC.

IMO go for something a bit more conservative. Nordstrom is having a sale right now with some decently priced suits. But to be honest, just buy a nice plain navy or dark grey suit, get it fitted and you should be okay with regard to clothes.
Thanks Ivan, is the fist one - dark teal suit too much? would it stick out like a sore thumb? lol
Not teal of any shade. Navy blue or charcoal gray. That’s it.
First and last suit would like fine.
I highly recommend going with the Suit Supply option, they have a considerably better track record. Go into the store and get fitted, just don't let them make the trousers too short like they sometimes like to.
Thanks, how short is good for banking? single break? or at the ankles just skimming the top of the shoes?
Depends on personal preference but either no break or slight break. Talk to the person marking up your alterations and let them know what you're using it for and that its a rather conservative industry.
It also depends on the pant leg. If you go with a very slim cut suit they will need to hem it higher than with a more traditional cut. The pants won't break properly if it touches the shoe on a tapered leg.
I know its not an option for everyone but post summer analyst stint I invested a chunk of my pay into a Brooks Brothers 1818 suit and had it tailored to fit. It was an absolute work-horse and stayed insanely sharp, even after interviews were over.
I don't think Indochino's quality holds up long-term. If you're looking for price:value, try something like Hickey Freeman- added perk that they're still domestically manufactured.
