I Despise Patagonia Vests

Is there a corporation in America faker than Patagonia? It’s a marketing company that poses as a mountaineering expedition in order to sell shoddily-made plastic clothing to hardos who rarely go outside. Their vests are awful. They are a cheap alternative to a nice suit jacket and an overcoat. Hate ironing your shirts? No problem! Roll up your sleeves and put on a vest to hide the lack of effort being placed on maintaining dress shirts! C'mon man. My take is that they are not individualists. They tend to copy and find security in a group of clones. Conventional in nature. They play it safe and wear the “uniform” of the day.

What do we replace the vests with? Simple, a suit jacket or blazer. Leave the Padagonia vests to the liberal arts kids.

Patagonia has tons of social and environmental initiatives. If we had more companies like Patagonia, the environment would be a much better place (the market would not be). One of their core values is to use business to protect the environment. No problem with disliking the vest, but don’t call them “posers” when they are genuinely striving to promote sustainability.
