It is a bad thing to wear trousers that are different colors than your blazer?
Right now I only have 4 different suits and I wanted to know if it’s acceptable to wear different color pants with my blazers to make up for the rest of the week.

don't mix and match suit jackets/pants. nobody will blink an eye if you wear a navy suit twice in one week
Yes it’s bad lmao
If I saw someone wearing grey trousers with a navy coat I would vomit
Why?
this is the classic business casual look
I assume they meant different color suit pants, khakis are fine
Nobody cares. Don't listen to these others above.
What are you saying? You look dumb if you wear mismatched pants and blazer in an office setting. Especially as someone who is junior.
"Trousers?"
Dress pants
Most of the time you won’t be in a full suit anyways but whenever you ARE, don’t mix and match colors
A blazer is different from a suit jacket
That's not 100% true. I think a sportcoat is different from a suit jacket. If that's what you meant, I agree with you. But I think most people would equate a blazer and suit jacket to be the same thing.
I don’t disagree with you. I use sport coat and blazer interchangeably. A suit jacket is a suit jacket imo
Just buy some cheap suits
First of all, most of the posts written before mine are written by morons, don't listen to them.
Second of all, you're going to need some clarification. Realize that there is a difference between your blazers, trousers, dress pants and sportcoats. So it behooves you to be clear in how you're describing your proposed wardrobe ensembles.
If you're talking about taking the 4 suits and just mixing across the board, some colors will work, others wont. So you'd have to post the colors to really help you. Also, I'm assuming a fairly casual suit. The more formal the suit, the less likely the mix-and-match is to work.
If you're talking about taking your suit blazers and combining them with other pants (like say some chinos) that will usually not work. However, that's usually not due to the color, but more of the cut of the jacket. Suit jackets are usually cut a little differently from a sportcoat - they're a little more formal - and it will look "off" with regular pants, no matter the color.
If you're talking about sportcoats then mixing with most pants should be just fine as long as you use a little common sense in how to match them and use the proper shoes.
No one is saying that sport coats with other pants aren’t common or anything for certain environments but he’s an incoming summer analyst at a bank where seeing someone with different color jacket/pants would stand out like a sore thumb and look really odd since people are either not wearing a jacket or wearing a suit jacket that matches their suit pants
That's not 100% true or at least you don't have enough information to answer that. Again, he didn't post colors so there's no way to say he can't mix and match to some degree.
Unless you want to look like the patron of a golf club who presents the trophy at a ceremony, do NOT do this
Will anyone care if my dress pants are a slightly different shade of navy than my suit jacket ? Tried to go to as many stores as possible to find the closest match, can’t tell at a distance but on super close look you can tell the difference. Will definitely try not to wear into meetings and such but I will need to rock it on some days… is it a bad look???
Almost certainly yes. Don't do this.
Some guys can pull it off, but I’ve only seen this in a casual setting, not work.
boyos, dark grey slacks and a navy ish blazer is like 15% to 20% of people in midtown (especially boomers).
dont wear a tie though
