What do you guys buy at nordstrom? The shirts are pretty low quality, the suits are overpriced, and the shoes are generally low end....

I guess the casual wear is ok?

You don't need to get the Nordstrom Visa to shop early...you can just get a regular member card. I went on Saturday and got two pairs of shoes + trees, a suit, three shirts, a watch, a belt, and some socks.

Nordstrom house brand shirts aren't the greatest, but the John W. Nordstrom line is pretty good and so are the David Donahues. Also, Nordstrom carries great shoes (Ferragamo, Allen Edmonds, Santoni, Magnanni, etc.)...not sure where you're getting your information from.

Heads up: the black Park Avenues are on sale for $230 (vs $335 normally). Definitely recommend picking up a pair for those of you that don't already own one.

It's still a credit card right? It's not a free rewards card from what I can tell.

I think the regular Nordstrom shirts are just as good as BB (had more wear and tear w/my BB shirts) and much cheaper during the sales. If you need basic, solid color shirts, it's a steal.

It's a credit card through Nordstrom Bank and is only usable at Nordstrom stores. BUT, you don't have to use it to get points. You can just have them swipe it for your membership # and then pay with something else. There are no fees or anything, so if you don't use the card to pay it just becomes like any other membership card.
