Pants with dress shirts
Interning at a PE firm this summer, and dress is semi-casual. Will be wearing dress shirts (Charles Tyrwhitt) and pants most days, and polos on particularly warm days. What brand slacks do you recommend? Would love something more comfortable and breathable but that doesn't look out of place with dress shirts.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommendations for slacks that pair well with dress shirts while maintaining comfort and breathability:
Bonobos: Known for their tailored fit and comfort, Bonobos offers a range of chinos and dress pants that are breathable and versatile. Their "Weekday Warrior" line is particularly popular for office settings.
Lululemon Commission Pants: These are a favorite for their stretch, comfort, and polished look. They blend performance fabric with a professional appearance, making them ideal for semi-casual office wear.
Banana Republic: Offers a variety of fits and styles, including slim and athletic fits. Their pants are well-regarded for being both stylish and comfortable.
J.Crew Bowery Pants: These are a solid option for a classic, professional look with a modern fit. They’re comfortable and work well with dress shirts.
Uniqlo Smart Pants: Affordable and functional, these pants are wrinkle-resistant and have a clean, professional look. They’re also lightweight, making them great for warmer days.
Theory: If you're looking to splurge a bit, Theory pants are known for their high-quality materials and sleek design, offering both comfort and a polished appearance.
For a semi-casual dress code, aim for neutral colors like navy, gray, or khaki to keep your outfits versatile and professional. Pairing these with your Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirts will ensure you look sharp and stay comfortable throughout your internship.
