Stacy Adams are good and quite long lasting, great for a student/intern budget.
I have dress loafers from Martin Dingman. Both pairs are super comfortable and very high quality.
You do not need to be spending 500 dollars or even 200 300 on shoes. Just buy a nice pair of black Oxfords for the summer and then when you get a return offer, buy a decent, good pair e.g., from C&J or similar which will last you a long time.
Me personally, I go for Versace and Balenciaga.

I got a pair of loafers from Meermin. Definitely good quality but they took quite a long time to break in. Were pretty painful to wear for a month
