There is a guy (trader) who came from blue crest and wears nikes to work. Another guy who works in technology wears timbs time to time. The hierarchy at the bank I'm at is pretty flat. No one cares if you're VP, head of something or an analyst, as long as you know your shit, you'll be respected. It really depends on the culture of the firm. I know this would have never been allowed at Blackrock or Barclays when I was working there.
I would refrain from it. You can get away with boots in most office settings, if done right. I would lean towards a chelsea or cap toe boot. If you want a higher quality, durable boot I would lean toward a Red Wing Heritage - either the Iron Ranger or Merchant style.

I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
