Watch Recs: London

I have a couple of decent watches (Rolex/IWC/JLC) none of which I would be willing to wear publicly in London (working in Mayfair)… Grateful for a few recommendations in the £1k-£2k range which would hurt less to be robbed and still look nice. It might sound overly cautious but have a few colleagues / friends that had 10k+ watches stolen in London recently and I am not willing to risk that.

For a budget of £1k-£2k and considering the need for a stylish yet less risky watch to wear in London, here are some solid recommendations based on the most helpful WSO content:

  1. Tissot: Known for their reliability and classic designs, Tissot offers great value for money. Models like the Tissot Gentleman or Tissot PRX Automatic are excellent choices within this range.

  2. Seiko: A versatile brand with a strong reputation. Look into the Seiko Presage line for a dressier option or the Seiko Prospex for a sportier vibe.

  3. Nomos: If you can stretch slightly above £2k, Nomos offers minimalist and elegant designs. The Tangente or Club Campus models are particularly popular.

  4. Longines: A well-respected brand with a variety of options. The Longines Conquest or Longines Master Collection could fit your needs.

  5. Hamilton: Known for their heritage and quality, Hamilton watches like the Jazzmaster or Khaki Field are stylish and durable.

These brands and models strike a balance between aesthetics, quality, and affordability, making them ideal for your situation in London.
