manbearpigI would go with white shirt and red striped tie.

Grr was thinking this

I generally stay away from power colors in interviews, but a red/blue repp tie wouldn't be bad.

Pale yellow works also.

I definitely want to wear the white BB shirt. Question is, burgandy striped or blue striped tie? Going with black cap toe Cole Haan oxfords by the way

Darker red or a light blue tie, along with a white shirt. You can sport a light blue shirt if you go with the red tie.

That navy/blue alternating stripe tie doesn't sound very appealing. A dark color paired with a medium color makes for a tie that isn't sure what it's supposed to be. I'd get rid of it if I were you.

Don't wear bold red to the interview.

If you've got a burgundy repp, wear that instead of the blue on blue repp.

It's "burgundy." I don't know what the fuck "burgandy" is. Solid is a very conservative look, but if you're wearing too many solids, you want to mix it up. Generally the rule of thumb is keep 1 thing patterned of your 3 (suit, shirt, and tie). Bolder people will add or subtract 1 from that, so sometimes you'll see no patterns or 2 patterns between the 3 items. 1 is most common and least risky. If your suit is not pinstriped/windowpaned/herringbone/pindot wool, and you have a plain white shirt, wear the striped tie.

IlliniProgrammerI'm wearing a paisley tie right now. Lots of folks on the trading floor wear them. The key is not wearing bright orange and green or something ridiculous:

There, done. Pair with a light blue shirt and a charcoal suit, and you've actually got a pretty subtle tie.

IP, you linked to a $53 tie, you feeling okay???

That is one of the ugliest ties I have ever seen. Please do not wear anything even remotely like that.

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.

IlliniProgrammer$26 when they have their buy one get one free sale. Still pricey, but less ridiculous.

You may be the only person that works in high finance to ever call a half-off tie from Mens Warehouse pricey or ridiculous.

I really respect the fact that you put very little emphasis on material goods and possessions.

yea you can argue he is cheap but you can't argue that he doesn't know his shit lol

I'll agree I've seen people wearing them, but still. Personal taste I suppose, and that's the end of it. Cracking up at the most recent comments too . . . I love your additions to this forum.

am I the only one that thinks blue looks pretty bad with charcoal suits?

Id go with red/orange ideally, orange is too flashy for interviews tough, get some darker red. Ferragamo has some nice ones.
